Brough Haven

Short-eared Owl>> Habitat
Brough Haven - Large area of exposed mud at low tide with
reed beds and salt marsh along the edge of the flood bank.

Brough Marsh - The Marsh in the centre of the airfield has |become established over recent years. The marsh holds water through out the year and vegetation is now well established.

Welton Waters
- This area comprises three lakes surrounded
by scrub and reeds. The westerly pond is used by anglers and
is the best for wildfowl. The central lake is used by Welton
Sailing Club and therefore subject to disturbance.
The most easterly lake is well overgrown with reeds.

Resident - Little Grebe, Grey Heron, Mute Swan, Greylag Goose, Shelduck, Mallard, Tufted Duck, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Moorhen, Coot, Lapwing, Redshank, Black-headed Gull, Wood Pigeon, Kingfisher, Sky Lark, Pied Wagtail, Long-tailed Tit, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Magpie, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Linnet, Reed Bunting.

Spring and Autumn - Garganey, Avocet, Black-tailed Godwit, Common Tern, Arctic Tern, Black Tern, Sand Martin, Wheatear

Summer
- Great Crested Grebe, Shoveler, Turtle Dove, Cuckoo, Swallow, House Martin, Meadow Pipit, Yellow Wagtail, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Whitethroat, Blackcap, Willow Warbler.

Winter
- Wigeon, Gadwall, Teal, Pintail, Pochard, Goldeneye, Ruddy Duck, Merlin, Oystercatcher, Golden Plover, Lapwing, Dunlin, Redshank, Turnstone, Bar-tailed Godwit, Common Gull, Short-eared Owl, Fieldfare, Redwing. Access Brough Haven - A car park is situated at the western end of the factory where access can be gained to the river bank to the east, the bank to the west is accessed through the boat yard.
