Hornsea Mere

Tufted Duck>> Habitat
Hornsea Mere is the largest natural fresh water lake in East Yorkshire and situated only 1km from the coast. The northern and western
edges of the Mere are largely surrounded by woodland and reedbeds.

The Eastern shore is more open and also the busiest part of the Mere for human disturbance.

The southern shore is fairly open at the eastern end progressively turning into woodland at the western end.
