Habitat
Wet pasture, with many small floods
during the winter months, especially between Barmston Drain and River
Hull. During the summer months most of the floods will dry out completely.

During the winter months the floods
can attract wildfowl in varying numbers. The commoner waders can also
be found such as Redshank, Snipe along with Ruff during winter, In spring the floods begin to dry out and can attract
passage waders such as Little
Ringed Plover, Greenshank, Green Sandpiper and Wood Sandpiper.
Breeding birds are mainly Lapwing and Skylark. The list is not exhaustive, regular checks will reveal
many surprises, though nothing can be guaranteed.

Entrances to the pasture are
located at Hull Bridge along the west bank of the River Hull. A stile
entrance can be found along Hull Bridge Road. A gate house entrance
is along Swinemoor Lane. Access can also be gained through the
industrial estate along Barmston Drain. |
