2 Green Sandpiper on roadside flashes between Watton and Tophill also 3 Smew

at Watton Nature Reserve

 

Sunday 2nd

The Black-bellied Dipper was seen again today at Watton Beck at Tophill Low

Red Legged Partridge along side of 'D' Res and Barn Owl at South Marsh West

Monday 3rd

Tuesday 4th

Bean Goose and Iceland Gull reported from Hornsea Mere today. At Tophill Low

2 Ruff were on North Marsh

Wednesday 5th

Bean Goose, Long-tailed Duck and Iceland Gull today at Hornsea Mere. Also a Jackdaw with a lightish collar possibly of Nordic origin.

The Black-bellied Dipper still at Watton Beck. At Watton Nature Reserve Smew and 9 Corn Buntings. At Tophill Low 5 Bullfinch and 2 Woodcock in woods NE of 'D' Res

Thursday 6th

High Esk reserve today held 8 Whooper Swan, Barnacle, Bean and Pink footed Geese. At Atwick 2 Twite were seen and photographed. Bean Goose, Med Gull

Long-tailed Duck at Hornsea Mere. Little Owl at Kilnwick

A Grey Partridge was logged along the approach road to Tophill Low and a Jack Snipe was on South Marsh East.

Friday 7th

Water Rail and Brambling again today from the centre at Tophill Low 18 Tree Sparrow counted on site. The 'D' Res Gull roost today included 14,000 Common Gull and 9,000 Black-headed Gull. At Atwick today the 2 Twite were still present, together with 10 Skylark, Snipe and 4 Linnet.

Saturday 8th

A Smew was on 'D' Res today at Tophill Low and a Stonechat at Paul Holme Str.

Monday 10th

At Tophill Low 2 Grey Wagtails at 'D' Res and 28 Curlew over. At Welton Waters

Tuesday 11th

Sand Martins reported today from Hornsea Mere

Wednesday 12th

At Tophill Low a pair of Pintail on SME, KIngfisher SL, Brambling and Reed Bunting at the feeders. A Marsh Harrier was reported from South Lagoon.

Thursday 13th

Redshank on the roadside flashes between Tophill Low and Watton. Drake Smew was on the 'D' Res at Tophill Low and the Black-bellied Dipper was seen

again at Watton Beck.

Friday 14th

Barnacle, White-fronted and Pink-footed Geese again today at High Esk

At Tophill Low Kingfisher, Smew, Woodcock and Barn Owl present today

Hornsea mere logged a 3rd Winter Iceland Gull and 2 Long-tailed Ducks.

Sunday 16th

Among todays sightings at Tophill Low were 41 Gadwall on SME, a Meadow pipit was on 'D' Wall. 3 Grey Wagtails at Watton Nature Reserve together with a Ringed Plover and 30 Reed Buntings. 8 Whooper Swans were on Watton Carrs

 

Monday 17th

Black Redstart, 2 Snow Bunting and White Wagtail today at Atwick

Tuesday 18th

Black Redstart, 4 Snow Bunting, Lapland Bunting and White Wagtail today at Atwick also Long-tailed Duck at Hornsea Mere

Drake Smew on 'O' Res at Tophill Low. 2 Long-tailed Ducks at Hornsea Mere

Thursday 20th

Black Redstart still at Atwick and a 1W Glaucous Gull at Hornsea Mere

Friday 21st

2 Long-tailed Duck at Hornsea Mere plus Summer Plumage Black-necked Grebe. At Tophill Low Peregrine and Brambling seen today along with Bullfinch

and Water Rail.

Saturday 22nd

Black-necked Grebe, Long-tailed Duck and Bean Goose today at Hornsea Mere

Sunday 23rd

Black-necked Grebe and 2 Long-tailed Ducks at Hornsea Mere today. At Tophill Low today a report of a Hen Harrier seen from North Lagoon

Monday 24th

Buzzard, Water Rail and Brambling at Tophill Low. An Avocet was at Paul H.S.

Tuesday 25th

Buzzard, Barn Owl, Brambling and a Hen Harrier sighting at Tophill Low. At Atwick

Snow Bunting and Black Redstart seen. (IF VISITING FOR THE BLACK REDSTART, PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE CARAVAN PARK THANK YOU)

Wednesday 26th

2 Firecrests and Chiffchaff today at East Park Hull. At Paull Holme Strays 2 Scandi. Rock Pipits and possible Water Pipit with 17 Avocets present.

Thursday 27th

Firecrest again today in East Park Hull near the splashboat area and 15 Goosander on the Lake. About 50 Whooper Swan seen flying North over Hull. At Watton Beck Woods today 2 Chiffchaff, Woodcock and a pair of Willow Tits.

At Tophill Low Water Rail, Woodcock, Siskin, Brambling at least 5 Chiffchaffs and Little Ringed Plover at WNR. 2 Grey Partridge on Tophill Approach road.

Also today 6 Sand Martins at Hornsea Mere, the Bean Goose and 2 Long-tailed

Duck also present. At Atwick the first Wheatear of the spring and the Black Redstart was showing around the cliff top cottage. The Black-bellied Dipper was

also reported today at the usual sight.

Friday 28th

Chiffchaff at Watton Beck Woods and 2 Buzzard near Driffield Golf Club

3 Sand Martin, 2 Little Ringed Plover, Buzzard and Peregrine in the Tophill Low

Area

Saturday 29th

Siskin and Sparrowhawk Brambling and Siskin at Tophill Low. 3 Sand Martin, Wheatear and 2 Little Ringed Plovers at Watton Nature Reserve. Little Egret and

Little Stint were seen at Paul Holme Strays.

Sunday 30th

Sand Martins and Chiffchaff with Oystercatcher, Dunlin and Ruddy Duck at Tophill Low, 6 Sand Martin and Twite seen at Atwick. Little Ringed Plover at Watton Nature Reserve

Monday 31st

The Black-bellied Dipper was present along Watton Beck, at Welton Waters the

first Common tern of the year was recorded. At Brough Airfield Marsh Pintail and 3 Chiffchaffs. Little Ringed Plover and Chiffchaffs at Tophill Low.

Another decent sighting was a Woodcock in Hedon Road Cemetary Hull
